2012. March.
A new screen print is shown as it is printed. I have so far printed, or 'pulled' 11 colours. More to go to build up the print. Each colour is the result of a separate, hand made stencil. I use melted dripping with a water soluble block out to make the stencil. Oil based inks on heavy acid free paper. So far I have 28 prints, two of which will become Artist's proofs because of small errors in printing.
A Mountain painting is also in progress. Working from my upstairs studio window means I have to wait until the conditions are right. The mountain (Mt Taranaki) has been clouded most evenings. Out in the morning and gone by 4 oclock. Very frustrating since it is a 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock Mt.
The self portrait is about to be reworked.
